Development 3

I played around with the page elements and since I could not achieve what I wanted with the Page Elements tab in the Layout menu, I went to the HTML. I changed the values in a few places to see what in the code changes what on the layout. I figured out that float:$startSide; and float:$endSide; define where the elements appear on the page. I changed "startSide" with "endSide" and "endSide" with "startSide" and the result was that the box for the blog posts and the sidebar exchanged their places.

Development 2

After I added some info about me and uploaded a picture, I worked on my first two posts. When I published them, I realize it looks very dry. I clicked on the customize button, then on pick a new template. I looked through all of them and picked the one that suits me best.

Development 1

After I created the blog the first thing I did was to change the colors. I chose pale green for the background and gray, purple, dark green, black and white for the different types of text. I also changes the font.

3D Project

This is a project I did for my 3D Visual Dynamics course last semester. The assignment was to create an asymmetrical three-dimensional composition from three round elements - spheres, cylinders, cones, semi-spheres, semi-cylinders, etc. The material had to be plaster.

The first thing I did was to make different shapes out of plasticine and make some experiments with them. After I figured out how my project was going to look like, I started thinking about ways to make it.

I made a hollow cone shape, using aluminum foil and Bristol paper, a cylinder, using a plastic cup and piece foam-core board. For the sphere I used a ping-pong ball.

I mixed plaster and poured it into the shapes. When the plaster was dry, I cut the plastic, foil and paper away. Using a rasp and some other tools, I removed a piece from the cylinder to make the intersection of the cylinder and the cone. I refined the shapes and created a nice texture on the surfaces. After that I attached the cone and the cylinder with plaster and the cylinder with the sphere with a piece of toothpick and Super glue.

Finally, I glued the whole thing to a wooden board to make it stay up.

Digital Publishing

Nowadays information pours out from everywhere. Radio, television, printed media, internet, or just the people around share information on many subjects. While some news is completely useless and uninteresting for me, other is very important. I do not care if Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are splitting, but I need to know thing like the Bay Bridge being closed, or how the economic crisis is going, because they can effect me. For information like this I go to the most popular sources. Websites of local TV channels and newspapers, for example. Whatever the source is, I do not trust it blindly. I usually check other medias to confirm the data.
Usually, I do not spend a lot of time searching and reading about events. I expect that if something major is happening I will learn about it from my friends. Politics, sports or lives of celebrities do not interest me. However, it is important to know what is happening, in local and global scale, in order to have an adequate reaction to the events and therefore to be accepted from the society.
